Terms of Use

These conditions govern every visit to Collingsworth County Criminal History, including browsing a guide or submitting a query through an outside search tool. Use of any page means that you agree to the terms below. If you do not agree, discontinue use of the website.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website is not connected with Collingsworth County, Texas, or any other government body. Neither the site nor its advertising partners provides a service for credit decisions, employment screening, tenant screening, insurance eligibility, or another use regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The site is a reference resource, not a private investigation firm or consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site, independent of all government agencies. It neither stores official records nor retrieves criminal histories, performs official checks, or files documents for a visitor.

The guides identify likely custodians for Collingsworth County records, including the sheriff, the court clerks, Texas DPS, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Public access to local executive-agency records is subject to the Texas Public Information Act in Government Code Chapter 552. Texas DPS criminal-history access and dissemination are governed in part by Government Code Chapter 411. Links to outside tools are provided only as research routes.

2. Rules for Using This Site

By using the site, you agree not to:

  • Use the site in violation of federal, Texas, or local law
  • Threaten, stalk, or harass a person with information found here
  • Use site content in a hiring, housing, credit, or insurance decision
  • Attempt unauthorized entry into any site account or system
  • Send bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools to these pages
  • Interfere with performance or prevent another visitor from accessing the site

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

You may not use information from this website or a linked tool to stalk, intimidate, threaten, harass, or unlawfully discriminate against anyone. Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 62 limits misuse of Texas Public Sex Offender Registry information and provides penalties for using it to commit an offense against a registrant. Registry access is intended for safety awareness, never vigilantism or an unlawful decision about a person's work or housing.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and produces no consumer report, credit report, or background-check product. Its advertising partners likewise do not offer tools here for regulated screening. Information from this site or a linked tool must not be used to:

  • Make a hiring, firing, or other employment decision
  • Evaluate an applicant for a home or rental
  • Set insurance terms or assess creditworthiness
  • Decide access to a government benefit, permit, or license
  • Carry out any other activity regulated by the FCRA

A lawful check for a regulated purpose must be obtained through an appropriate official or FCRA-compliant provider, not through this site or its search widget.

5. No Legal Advice

The site supplies general information, not legal advice. A guide cannot determine how a charge, conviction, warrant, Texas expunction under Chapter 55A, or nondisclosure under Government Code Chapter 411 applies to an individual case. Seek advice from a licensed Texas attorney.

6. No Warranties

All content and functions are provided "as is." No warranty promises that:

  • A guide is complete, accurate, or current at a given moment
  • Outside search results are correct or comprehensive
  • Pages are free from bugs, mistakes, or security weaknesses
  • The website will operate continuously without interruption

Records change when charges are filed or dismissed and when courts grant expunction or nondisclosure relief. Delays and gaps can occur. No page on this website is an official statement by the Collingsworth County sheriff, a court, Texas DPS, or any government office.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to county offices, courts, Texas agencies, legal resources, and third-party search providers. Those sites operate independently. We do not control or accept responsibility for their availability, prices, content, privacy practices, or terms. Review the destination's rules before using it.

8. Intellectual Property

Collingsworth County Criminal History or its content partners own the site's text, code, logos, and graphics. You may not reproduce, distribute, alter, or create derivative works from that material without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we disclaim liability for harm arising from use of this site, including reliance on content found here or through an outside service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against claims, demands, and proceedings caused by your use of the site or your violation of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

Texas law governs these terms. Any dispute arising from use of the site must be brought in a court located in Texas.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised at any time. A revised version takes effect when it is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

We may restrict or end access to the website at any time, for any reason, and without advance notice.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in effect. The affected provision will be limited only as far as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these conditions may be submitted through the Contact page.
