Why We Built This Site
Collingsworth County relies on a compact network of offices centered in Wellington. Sheriff Kent Riley's office is the starting point for sheriff-created reports and local custody questions. Jackie Johnson serves as both County Clerk and District Clerk, though a caller still needs to identify whether the matter is a felony, misdemeanor, or another type of filing. Texas DPS maintains statewide criminal-history information, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice tracks sentenced state prisoners, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry publishes qualifying registrations. This site organizes the verified routes, explains what each source can prove, and marks information that local agencies do not publish online.
What You Will Find Here
- Local court guidance: how Collingsworth County criminal court cases are located through the combined clerk, Justice of the Peace, or Wellington Municipal Court
- Official record checks: how the DPS public name search differs from a personal fingerprint review through FAST and IdentoGO
- Agency routes: verified contacts for the sheriff, courthouse offices, DPS, TDCJ, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry
- Record relief context: the distinction between Texas expunction under Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 55A and nondisclosure under Government Code Chapter 411
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site with no connection to a Texas court, Collingsworth County office, police department, or state agency. Its role is limited:
- We cannot run an official background check or pull a criminal record for anyone
- We cannot file an expunction petition, public-information request, or other paperwork on your behalf
- We cannot issue certified copies of any criminal record, court document, or rap sheet
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific charge or case applies to you
- We cannot promise that an office's phone number, fee, address, or procedure has not changed
An official copy must come from the office that maintains it, such as the sheriff, the appropriate clerk, or Texas DPS. This site cannot issue or certify records.
Search Partners
Search boxes on some pages are operated by outside providers. Each provider controls its service, results, and prices. If a visitor follows one of those tools and purchases a service, this site may receive a referral payment that supports its operation. We do not set a partner's charges, maintain its data, or decide which results it returns.
