Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside company that provides that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. This website does not retain or record those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you email us, the message may be kept long enough to manage and answer it. It remains within the site team unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, routine server and analytics logs may collect technical facts about the visit:
- Page-view dates and times
- Visited pages and approximate time spent on them
- Browser name and version
- Device type and operating system
- Your device's assigned IP address
- A referring site, when one is supplied
Cookies and Analytics
This site uses cookies, which are small files placed on a device. Together with analytics services, they help show overall traffic patterns, popular pages, and points where visits end. You can block cookies through browser controls, although disabling them may change how parts of the site work.
What We Do With This Data
- Routing a submitted query to the appropriate search partner
- Operating the site and improving load performance
- Finding and repairing errors or other technical problems
- Understanding which guides are useful and where pages need improvement
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Collingsworth County Criminal History does not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes guidance to source records from Sheriff Kent Riley's office, the local court clerks, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Texas DPS criminal-history dissemination is governed in part by Government Code Chapter 411. Visitor information collected here is not turned into a consumer report or a third-party criminal record, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies supply the search boxes shown on some pages. Their own privacy terms, retention periods, and sharing rules govern any query sent to them. Those practices are outside this site's control, so review the provider's policy before using its tool.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Collingsworth County website, Texas DPS, court systems, legal resources, and outside search services. Once you leave this site, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may use their own technology to measure activity across websites and select ads. That processing occurs on the provider's systems.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Analytics providers measuring site traffic and performance
- Search partners processing a query you choose to submit
- Advertising networks serving content on these pages
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal demand
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, commonly used security measures protect information collected by the site. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, however, and this policy does not promise that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
This website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such data, we will remove it.
Your Data Rights
Rights vary with applicable law. Texas consumer protections include the Deceptive Trade Practices Act in Business and Commerce Code Chapter 17. Government records are separately controlled by the Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, while access to and dissemination of criminal-history record information are addressed in Government Code Chapter 411. Subject to the law that applies, you may:
- Request deletion of personal data we maintain
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Object to certain forms of processing where the law provides that choice
Updates to This Policy
